URI/AAUP Members, Have you ever asked:
“Why is ____ in the union contract?”
“Why don’t we have ____ in the union contract?”
“What does ____ mean in the union contract?”
“How do we get more ____ in the union contract?”
Well, here is your chance to get answers to those questions. URI/AAUP is hosting a “How is our contract made?” meeting:
• Tuesday, February 6, 2024
• 3:00pm
• Hope Room of the Higgins Welcome Center
Executive Director Jay Walsh will describe the bargaining process including how language is added, subtracted, or modified. He will also explain the dispute resolution process if URI/AAUP and the URI Board of Trustees can not reach agreement. These resolutions could include mediation, arbitration, or a faculty strike.
Learn how our contract is made and learn how you can help make the next contract strong.
Register here to attend. We’re sorry but there is no remote option for this meeting. This is a union meeting, and we’ll discuss union business. We want to make sure that what is said in the room stays in the room.
Our collective bargaining agreement expires in 17 months. It’s time for us to get organized.
See you on February 6th!
Jay Walsh
